KöLn 75

In honor of the theatrical opening of Köln 75, Zeitgeist Films in association with Kino Lorber invite you and a guest to a discussion with the film’s subject Vera Brandes and director ldo Fluk, moderated by Grammy nominated producer, author, and NYU professor Ashley Kahn at the Goethe-Institut. Köln 75 captures the compelling, entertaining and, until now, unknown backstory about Keith Jarrett's one-hour, entirely improvised 1975 concert, which became the best-selling solo album in jazz history, and about the teenaged concert promoter, Vera Brandes, who made it happen. Come meet Vera Brandes, who at an amazingly young age was able to produce this legendary event and director Ido Fluk who has brought her incredible story to the screen. Köln 75 opens Friday, October 17 at IFC Center. Vera Brandes, Mala Emde (the German actress who plays Brandes in the film), and ldo Fluk will appear at the 6:45pm shows on Friday and Saturday night. A discount code for tickets for the theatrical run will be provided for all attendees of this event. Please note that the film will not be screened at the Goethe-Institut.
