Please join us on Friday, May 23rd from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM for a guided Plant Walk and Wampum Art showcase in the Middlesex Fells. Elizabeth James-Perry will lead a 2.5 hour Plant and Tree walk in the Middlesex Fells from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM, followed by a 30 minute showcase of basketry, fiber arts, and wampum. This event is part of the Friends of the Fells Native Land Learning Series honoring the deep knowledge and contributions of our Indigenous community members, led by Massachusetts-based Tribal artists and educators Brad Lopes, Elizabeth James-Perry, and Larry Spotted Crow Mann. Speaker: Elizabeth James-Perry About Elizabeth James-Perry: Elizabeth is an Aquinnah Wampanoag Culture Bearer, Educator, and restorative Native gardener who is dedicated to the revival and continuity of valuable Indigenous knowledge. She is a Wampum artist, guided by community mentors, who explores themes of Northeastern Woodlands, maritime traditions, and Native identity and sovereignty.
