Free Food Harlem Presents The Harlem Chamber Players

The Harlem Chamber Players are giving a free concert at Refettorio Harlem a restaurant for the food insecure near the Emanuel Ame Church on 119th Street. All are welcome. (Food will not be served at this event.) The non-profit Harlem Chamber Players are an ethnically diverse collective of professional classical musicians dedicated to bringing high-caliber, affordable, accessible live music to people in the Harlem community and beyond. Refettorio Harlem’s operating partner Free Food Harlem, is a NY-based nonprofit that has worked in the Harlem community since 2021 to help restore dignity among the poor and unhoused. We serve nutritious, well-prepared, and ethically and sustainably sourced meals in clean and elegant settings, mirroring the dining experience of high-end farm-to-table restaurants. The essential nutrient in providing meals in communal settings is to strengthen human connection and alleviate the sense of social isolation often faced by people on the streets. Refettorio Harlem aims to create a cultural hub for community and expression, facilitating musical events with local jazz musicians, the Harlem Chamber Players, art exhibits and installations, and educational opportunities around nutrition, cooking and sustainability.
