Holy Name Cathedral 730 North Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL While ground broke on Chicago's cathedral in July of 1874, the building has been restored several times over the years to repair fire damage. The cathedral notably replaced the Cathedral of Saint Mary after it was destroyed during the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.
