Commonwealth Museum

Boston University Art Galleries

The BU Art Galleries serves as a resource of learning and cultural engagement for Boston University and the surrounding metro area. Boston Fire Museum

Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company

We were chartered and established as a military company in 1638 to train young gentleman officers for service in the various militias of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Bunker Hill Museum

Warren Anatomical Museum

Monday – Friday | Hours: 9 am - 5 pm
The Warren Museum became one of this country's leading medical museums. Physicians such as Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., J. B. S. Jackson, Henry Jacob Bigelow, and J. Collins Warren contributed to its holdings. Jackson was the Museum's first curator.

The Ether Dome

Monday – Friday | Hours: 9 am - 5 pm
William T.G. Morton made history on October 16, 1846 in Massachusetts General Hospital’s surgical amphitheater, now known as the Ether Dome, when he demonstrated the first public surgery using anesthetic (ether). Between 1821 and 1868, more than 8,000 operations were performed in the Ether Dome. Today it is a teaching amphitheater and historical landmark. Visitors can explore the unique architecture and a small collection of artifacts, including an oil painting of the famous first surgery, an Egyptian mummy and early surgical tools.

The Russell Museum

Daily | Weekday Hours: 9 am - 5 pm | Weekend Hours: 11 am - 5 pm
The Russell Museum is dedicated to drawing connections between innovations spanning more than 200 years, from the hospital’s charter in 1811 to the present day. Visit us for an experience that will inform, inspire and engage.

Massachusetts Historical Society

The MHS is an invaluable resource for the study of American history, life, and culture. McMullen Museum of Art

The McMullen Museum aims to cultivate learning, celebrate artistic excellence, explore the visual traditions of diverse cultures, and inspire transdisciplinary faculty and student research based on the visual arts. MIT List Visual Arts Center

The List Visual Arts Center is a creative laboratory that provides artists with a space to freely experiment and push existing boundaries.
