Join NYC Parks and the Jazz Foundation of America for a solo concert by one of jazz's living legends, pianist/composer Bertha Hope. Having toured globally with artists like Nat Adderley, Dizzy Gillespie and Eddie Henderson, Ms. Hope has several albums under her own leadership and is also a respected educator and bandleader. She has been honored with the National Jazz Museum in Harlem's Legends of Jazz Award, the Jazz Foundation of America's Lifetime Achievement Award, the Bronx Music Heritage Center's Bronx Living Legend award, and an inaugural Jazz Legacy Fellowship.This event is FREE and open to the public.Supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
