Access Family Program: Astronauts Aboard (Children)

Access Family Programs (Children ages 5-17) The Intrepid Museum offers programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families on select Sundays during regular Museum hours. Families take a guided, interactive tour of the Museum and can participate in activities that everyone can enjoy. Families receive a social narrative and visual vocabulary and schedule in advance.Astronauts Aboard From incredible journeys to sea and space, the aircraft carrier Intrepid helped recover astronauts during the Space Race, while the space shuttle Enterprise tested the future of spaceflight. Learn more about the surprising connection between these two icons and what it really takes to blast off into space and return safely home. Check-in begins at 10:30am. Please arrive before 11:00am in order to participate in the full program. Looking for a program for older visitors? A similar program will be offered again from 2:00 to 4:00pm for teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Register for the teen and adult program here. More Info below.
