Till We Have Justice

TILL WE HAVE JUSTICE: An exhibition honoring Emmett Till and the courage of his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley Curated by Richard Allen May III & featured in The Loft at Liz's Opening during Black History Month and extending into Women's History Month, this powerful exhibition brings together distinguished artists to explore one of the most pivotal moments in American civil rights history. The exhibition honors both the memory of Emmett Till and the extraordinary courage of his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, whose decision to insist on an open-casket funeral forced America to confront the brutal reality of racial violence. By showing the world what had been done to her son, Till-Mobley transformed personal tragedy into a catalyst for the civil rights movement. This exhibition presents diverse artistic perspectives across multiple media. Through their work, these artists explore how Emmett Till's story continues to resonate in our collective consciousness and our ongoing struggle for justice, bringing African American identity, history, and spirituality to this profoundly important exhibition.
