When Dayja’s Marine Corps Reservist mom heads off to annual training, the eight-year-old Bigfoot fan is excited to spend two whole weeks with her Dad. But when Dayja’s eccentric and well-meaning stepmother, Ms. Lena, tries to teach her the finer arts of baking, crocheting, and home decorating, Dayja begs her beloved grandfather and running buddy, Paw Paw, for rescue. When Paw Paw shows up to take Dayja camping, the prim and proper Ms. Lena happily announces that she will be joining the pair for their adventure in the North Georgia mountains -- an area that turns out to be the legendary Bigfoot’s backyard.
