Get ready to celebrate and support our neighborhood at the Midtown South Community Council's Holiday Fund Raising Party! We are cocktail-ing at the Purple Tongue! This year, MSCC has made incredible strides to fortify communities to fend off the growing health, housing, and food crises. Our work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves dignity, security, and a voice. Our Impact in 2025: A Year of Action Here’s what we accomplished together this year: Feeding Our Neighbors: Our Urban Farm Program had its most successful season yet, distributing over 3,775 pounds of fresh, organic produce to residents of shelters and community members in need. This isn't just about food; it's about health, hope, and the comfort of a fresh meal for those who need it most. Chelsea Public Housing Coalition The Midtown South Community Council is part of a powerful coalition of tenants, from the Fulton and Elliott-Chelsea Houses that are under threat of demolition, Chelsea community members, and local organizations fighting against the unnecessary demolition of public housing. We believe that preserving public housing is protecting our humanity, our community and saving our city. Building a Movement for Justice: The Communities Together: Social Justice and Music Fest 2025 was a powerful testament to our community's spirit. We brought over 2,000 people together to rally for housing, health, and social justice, turning our streets into a vibrant stage for change and solidarity. These achievements are more than numbers—they are stories of resilience. They represent a child having access to nutritious food, a family feeling supported in their fight to stay in their home, and a community standing united against injustice. The Fight is Far from Over Despite our progress, the challenges are immense. The housing crisis deepens, public housing remains under attack, and food insecurity continues to threaten the well-being of our neighbors. Our opponents are powerful, but our community is stronger when we stand together.
