The Winter Lounge

Join us at the debut of the Cultural Stewardship Reading Room inside the Arts Incubator, a comfy space to explore books, magazines, and other materials about South Side culture, arts and history. We’ll be showing Home Movies for the Holidays, the nostalgic annual South Side Home Movie Project winter compilation scored by local DJs. Warm drinks, light bites, and the first 20 guests will take home a free book by a Chicago author. The Arts Incubator Gallery will be open extended hours for visitors to explore Nathaniel Mary Quinn and Gregory Huebner: The Hand That Guides. For one night only, we’ll have a quiet study area set up in the gallery for UChicago students prepping for the end of the quarter. December's Sip + Shop at the L1 Retail Store is hosting an ornament-making workshop along with drinks and snacks. Take a break from the cold, connect with friends and neighbors, and celebrate the season with APL. All APL programs are free and open to the public. To help us continue to provide these programs and build a hub for arts & culture on the South Side, we appreciate donations of all sizes. Your support sustains the rich ecosystem of artists that make the Arts Block so vibrant. To donate, please visit our giving page. More Info below.
