In 2003, Brick and his wife Malinda experienced what many have labeled a tragic and unfortunate event that left Brick on life support fighting for his life with only a 10% chance of survival. When he was taken off life support, he was given the grim prognosis that his recovery would keep him in the hospital for up to 6 months. Through the power of prayer from hundreds made on his behalf, faith filled priesthood blessings and from living gospel principles all his life, Brick was blessed with heavenly strength and personal revelation that allowed him to walk out of the hospital 9 days later. Through this experience and many throughout his life Brick has gained a testimony that it is not our circumstances in life, but our understanding of our true self and our relationship with our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ that gives us the power to accept and overcome the trials we are trusted to endure.
