Postigo Express Film Premiere

Through a drawn out and often violent campaign, Basque separatists fought for the right to self-determination in northern Spain from the 1970s through the 2000s. Basque photographer Fernando Postigo fearlessly documented the conflict in San Sebastian, daily putting himself on the front lines. Postigo’s work reveals the the human dimension of a region wrestling with questions of identity, resistance, and reconciliation. Join Perry World House for the world premiere of Postigo Express, a short documentary exploring Postigo’s remarkable life and work. The film’s director, Peter Decherney, and its subject, Fernando Postigo, will introduce the screening and take part in a discussion afterward. Following the premiere, attendees are invited to an accompanying exhibition featuring Postigo’s powerful photographs at the Arthur Ross Gallery, opening at 5pm.
