“Breaking Silence” is a short documentary that follows a Deaf prison chaplain trying to provide better access and care to deaf people. In prison, virtually no one speaks sign language. So being incarcerated and deaf is like being in a prison within a prison. Imagine what it's like to receive care in a place where the people trying to help you don’t fully understand you. You are invited to attend a film and conversation exploring the ‘prison’ people with disabilities can experience in institutional settings. After the film join other professionals in conversation about addressing your clients’ complex needs in the face of burnout. More Info below.
