But hope springs eternal: a Hollywood production company has chosen Wiesenwalde as the location for a World War II blockbuster. While Mayor Susanne Pauli (Meike Droste) hopes for a tourism boom, Journalist Bernt (Roland Bonjour) tries to land an interview with the film’s star. As the villagers take advantage of the opportunity to chase their personal dreams, a sudden power outage and a missing tank risk ruining all their plans.
