"The Museum Of Lost Love"

Join us for a riveting, engaging evening of stories and music, performed by Houston's passionate violin and piano ensemble Duo Dramatique. The idea for this concert is based on the 2019 book by Gary Barker, himself a Texas native. Barker's novel, titled "The Museum of Lost Love", weaves in stories of damaged relationships, affected by various circumstances: wars, migration, conflict, etc. The most prominent of these stories is one about young people separated by the 1990s war in the former Yugoslavia. Till today, the actual Museum of Broken Relationships exists in Zagreb, Croatia. This special concert features rarely heard music by composers from the former lands of Yugoslavia: Dora Pejačević (Croatia), Marko Tajčević (Serbia), and Theodora Žebeljan (Serbia), leading voices of 20th- and 21st-century composers from Southeast Europe. The recital is funded in part by the City of Houston via Houston Arts Alliance's "Let Creativity Happen" grant. It is free and open to all. Duo Dramatique are: Dominika Dancewicz, violin Andrew Schneider, piano More Info below.
