Enjoy the beautiful and historic grounds of the French Legation on September 20th for a Victorian Picnic Day! During the Victorian period, industrialization and urbanization spurred many social and cultural changes. These changes led to an increase in leisure, travel, and entertainment, including the rise in popularity of picnics. Listen to the folk jams of Austin Friends of Traditional Music, play historic and modern lawn games, learn about Victorian picnic etiquette and fare, and eat your delicious picnic spread all in one! Victorian Picnic Fare Talk and Activity: 11 am - 12 pm, admission required. Austin Friends of Traditional Music Jam: 11 am - 1 pm Austin Friends of Traditional Music Square Dance: 1 - 3 pm Picnics and Games: 11 am - 3 pm Victorian Picnic Day is a bring your own picnic event.
