Echoes Of Bronzeville--Strife On State Street

Deluge and Illinois Tech present the final program in The Echoes of Bronzeville series. Strife on State Street occurs in the Schulz Auditorium of the IIT Tower, (former site of the Binga Bank, Chicago’s first Black-owned bank) and steps away from the “Vortex of Violence” in the Chicago 1919 Race Riot. Angel Bat Dawid, 9MagicForever1, and Chicago Poet Laureate avery r. young have curated a musical and multi-sensory evening of sound and images that captures the joy and pain of Bronzeville street life during the Red Summer.
