Queering the Kitchen w/ Fork Fantasies Join us for our third workshop for allgo's Queering the Kitchen series. This hands-on series helps reduce food insecurity through beginner-friendly cooking demos, healthy meal prep tips, and community care. Come learn, cook, and nourish together! In this fun, flavor-packed workshop, Chef Dan'Chaye of Fork Fantasies will show you how to make tender, tasty pulled pork-style BBQ using only plant-based ingredients. Whether youโre a BBQ lover looking to try something new or just curious about plant-based cooking, this workshop is all about making big flavor feel easy and accessible. This is a free and family-freindly workshop, please register so we may prepare accordingly. You will be taking home what you make. We will have containers ready for you, however, please feel free to bring your own. Materials, light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Our Teacher: Chef Dan'Chaye McGruder developed a penchant for cooking at an early age, cooking with and learning from both her grandparents. She embarked on her culinary journey and became an accredited chef through the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. Chef Dan Chaye McGruder graduated in 2018 and has since then proven to be a stellar competitor in the culinary world by swiftly moving up the ranks from new Chef to Culinary Manager to founder and owner of Fork Fantasies. Chef Dan Chaye McGruder loves her profession and gets immense joy introducing people to new cuisines. Her favorite foods to prepare are savory Vegetarian/Vegan Soul Food dishes, and her ultimate goal is to have the ability to serve Austinites some of her best "down-home" recipes in a more health-conscious way. See you at DAWA HQ on July 14th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM! More Info below.
