Sound Soil Stwrds Presents: Formas Chamber Orchestra

Sound Soil Stwrds welcomes FORMAS - an imaginative Boston-based string quartet, transforming into a chamber orchestra for the first time. As the Spanish word “Formas” means “shapes”, the collective centers itself around innovative collaboration, commissioning and premiering new works, while drawing upon the traditions of jazz, western classical music and improvisation. Personnel: Brian Urra, Louis Thélot, Bengisu Gokce, Rin Matsuki (violin); Sarah Zahorodni, Phillip Rawlinson (viola); Peter Sumner, Thiago Wolf (cello); Devon Gates, Nick Isherwood (bass). This concert will also feature a premiere of new works by Guy Gottesfeld (guitar) and Klara Poznachowska (harp).
