Every other month, we team up with the Cambridge Public Library to highlight contemporary works from marginalized voices. All over a fresh, craft beer, of course! This month, we are thrilled to read Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor. The book follows a disabled Nigerian American woman who pens a wildly successful Sci-Fi novel. As her fame rises, she loses control of the narrative in this surprisingly cutting, yet heartfelt drama about art and love, identity and connection, and, ultimately, what makes us human. We’ll gather in person in our Broadway location’s back taproom on Wednesday, May 7th at 7:00 pm for our monthly discussion. Grab a beer, cold brew, or kombucha at the front bar, then come find us in the back. The discussion is casual, and all are welcome – even if you don’t finish the book, we’d still love to have you. So we can have a sense of numbers, please register on Eventbrite – it’s free, we just like to know how many folks we can expect. Copies of the book are available at the Main Library in Cambridge, at 449 Broadway. The e-book and digital audiobook can be borrowed through the Libby app. Let us know if you need help accessing the book. Please note that our taprooms are 21+ and all guests should be prepared to show a valid, current government-issued photo ID at the door. Questions? Get in touch: [hidden] More Info below.
