Mermaid Parade Portrait Meetup – Saturday, June 21 | Coney Island 📍 2:00 PM under the Parachute Jump on the Boardwalk Get ready for an epic splash of color, creativity, and costumes — APA|NY is heading to the legendary Mermaid Parade for a fun, casual group shoot, and you're invited! We'll be meeting at the end of the parade route under the iconic Parachute Jump to catch the mermaids, mermen, and Captain Neptunes in all their glittery glory. Expect impromptu portraits, great vibes, and a boardwalk full of wild and wonderful characters. 🧜‍♀️ Bring your camera, your good vibes, and your weirdest photo ideas — this is all about having fun, connecting with other creatives, and making some photo magic. 📌 Meet-up Spot: Look for the Riegelmann Boardwalk sign and someone rocking an APA hat or holding an APA sign. We’ll also have a temporary WhatsApp group going that day so no one gets lost in the sea of sequins (see below). 📸 Wanna go behind the scenes?For the early birds: 60 pre-parade photo passes will be available at 10 AM, on parade day. These give you access to the staging area where mermaids are getting ready — glitter, makeup, tail fluffing, and all. It's not part of our official event, but it’s a super cool chance to capture the behind-the-scenes action. After that, just meet us at 2 PM at the Jump! Let’s make the boardwalk our canvas — come play, shoot, and celebrate one of NYC’s most colorful traditions.
