This one-of-a-kind event will premiere Rose’s new short film Roots —a powerful short film exploring legacy, identity, and the strength it takes to hold on or let go. A struggling artist on the edge of eviction inherits a home she doesn’t want—until strange occurrences and neighborhood tension begin to reveal why it was meant for her all along. Evening Highlights: Film Screening – World premiere of Beyond the Line, exploring themes of redlining, generational wealth, and the transformative power of storytelling.Poetry – A moving performance by a local spoken word artist.Q & A Panel – A post-screening conversation with director Rose Sanchez and the cast, diving into the creative process and the larger themes of the residency.
