11 BC Serenity Garden welcomes Michael Eaton playing live Jazz trio concert on June 15th, at 5:00 p.m. for Open Garden NYC! (Michael Eaton - saxophones, Shawn Lovato - bass, Carter Bales - drums) Come enjoy some music at the garden!Michael Eaton (b. 1981) is a Brooklyn, NY based saxophonist, composer, and educator active in contemporary jazz and free improvisation. Originally a native of Kansas City, Missouri Eaton co-founded Mother Brain Records there. Mother Brain specializes in free improvisation, electronic music, new music, and hybrid genres. Michael’s last recording as a leader, The Phenomenal, was released in 2024 on Mother Brain Records. It combined his quartet, Individuation, with three special guests: Tim Hagans (trumpet), Dave Scott (trumpet), and Judi Silvano (voice). Eaton also plays in Paraphrase, a modern jazz and Third Stream duo for piano and saxophone with pianist Nicki Adams. They have two releases on Steeplechase Records, Paraphrase (2022) and The Transcendental (2024). Michael has been a music educator for 20 years, especially working with the middle school age group but also elementary school through adult learners. His NYC students have attended institutions such as LaGuardia High School, Frank Sinatra High School, the Julliard Musical Arts Program, the Manhattan School Precollege Jazz Program, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Middle School Jazz Academy.
