Join us for a powerful evening celebrating student voices, stories, and creativity! Students from the Puente Project at San Diego City College have spent the past 12 weeks working with Outside the Lens (OTL) to transform their poetry and lived experiences into original short films. Along the way, they’ve explored visual thinking, studied film techniques, practiced camera strategies, and learned the art of interviewing — building new skills while deepening their narratives around identity, culture, and community. This culminating event will showcase their final films on the big screen, alongside a panel discussion where students will reflect on their process and growth. Enjoy an evening of screenings, conversation, and connection, plus food and refreshments in the lively atmosphere of Digital Gym Cinema — San Diego’s hub for independent and emerging filmmakers. Let’s uplift their voices. See you at the movies! Timeline:5 PM Screening6 PM Screening7 PM Panel and Refreshments8 PM Screening Please note: Seating is limited. About Puente: The Puente Project is a statewide program committed to increasing the number of educationally disadvantaged students who transfer to four-year universities, earn degrees, and return as leaders in their communities. At San Diego City College, Puente students engage in academic, personal, and cultural growth while exploring the Latinx/Chicanx experience.
