We're honored to host an AAPI Night Market at Compound, curated by our team at Baryo, as part of AAPI Heritage Monthโa time to reflect, to honor, and to celebrate the deep-rooted contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Weโve pulled together something specialโa gathering of artists, storytellers, makers, and dreamers. Here's whatโs happening: ๐ถ DJ Glenn Red will be on the 1's and 2's spinning all vinyl, setting the vibes with a soulful set ๐จ Art showcases from talented local AAPI youth at Millikan High, including their student-led 562 Night Marketโnext gen showing up strong ๐๏ธ Live custom illustrations in the courtyard by Olivia Sawaiโget something real and personal to take home ๐๏ธ Kubo LB and Flipp Family will be representing community vendors and makers with a variety of pieces that tell stories ๐ค Open Mic Night โ a Thursday tradition at Compound, made even more meaningful as we lift up AAPI voices through spoken word, music, and poetry ๐ญ Interactive storytelling booth and art showcase by Make Noise Today โ step in, listen, and share ๐ฑ Dive into augmented reality artwork by Donna Ibelli of Sunnitude Creative ๐ฅ Connect at a creative meet-up curated by Ryan Baysa, with interviews featuring AAPI artists and creators ๐งข Middle Child Workshop will be debuting their AAPI Apparel Capsuleโpart of their summer drop, full of heart and pride ๐ฐ Sweet treats from Bik-Lun and Sunday in Juneโbecause joy lives in dessert too ๐ป Unionโs Happy Hour is running all nightโfood and drink specials made for chilling and connecting ๐ฏ Family-friendly energy, good vibes for all ages We believe in food as a language of love, in art as a way to heal and move, and in the power of gathering. This event is about showing up for each other, honoring where we come from, and making space for where weโre going. PARKING: Limited parking is available at the Compound garage located at 1326 Obispo Ave. Additional overflow parking is available at the Farmers & Merchants Bank Lot located at 3140 E Anaheim St. Ridesharing or public transit are strongly encouraged, and street parking may be available.
