The First Impulse, first published in December 2016, delves into the true story of Alexis and Nika, two young film journalists deeply in love, who were murdered in their Quezon City home. Laurel, a Filipino American author, felt haunted by the unsolved case and began their own investigation, intertwining their narrative with her personal journey back to the Philippines. Join us Thurs, May 15 (6:30–9PM) at @Groundfloor LA for a special night celebrating the reissue of The First Impulse by Laurel Flores Fantauzzo. Featuring a reading, short films inspired by Alexis + Nika by Martika Escobar & Tops Brugada, and a Q&A with the author. Books available for signing.
