"You're The Life Of Me": Film Screening & After Party

Please RSVP only if you plan to attend 100% so as to allow space for those interested. ===== First time film maker Shevan Bastien set out to visit Jackson, TN to discuss Black music with local community members and musicians. Their film titled "You're The Life Of Me" is an experimental arthouse documentary that asks the questions: Can music help a community of people find freedom? Or does cultural appropriation doom it to a salvage paradigm? The screening (5-7pm) will be followed by a Q&A led by Otez Gary which will also feature Ayana Contreras. And to close out the evening, the screening after party (7-10pm) will feature sets by DJs Tone B Nimble and Darryn Jones providing their musical selections. More Info below.
