Concept Cafe Weekly: Music

The theme of the week is... Music! Harmony, vibration, instruments, composition, audiophilia. We'll mine our own experiences of music and use them to generate something new. This is a weekly informal gathering with a theme from which we'll mine words. First we write for an hour, then we chat and share. If you have a theme you'd like to bring, please message me (George) and I'll add it for a future week. Here's the recipe: 1. We write for the first hour, starting at 9:10. 2. We talk about what we found and share whatever we feel like from our writing time, 10:10 until when people feel like leaving. Here's one template you can use to gear into the writing: 1. List words related to the theme which you're interested in (5 minutes) 2. Explore which of those words might give you energy, whether by sound, metaphor, or otherwise (5 minutes) 3. Free write using one of those words as a starting place (20 minutes) 4. Reflect on how it's going, whether this writing is relevant towards giving you energy (10 minutes) 5. Free write in whatever direction is speaking to you (20 minutes) More Info below.
