May Art & Wine Night

Sponsored by onShore Security, this month’s free event debuts a new exhibit featuring: Bruce Lee Vernon Bruce Vernon is a seasoned artist with a passion for drawing that spans over 60 years. Born and raised in a small farming town of North Liberty, Indiana. Vernon's love for art was evident from an early age. Despite his asthma, he found solace in drawing and honed his skills in pen and ink. His artistic focus is on Chicago architecture and Banyan trees, which is reflected in his work. Bruce has had a successful career in the business world, working for a Chicago-based financial services firm for 28 years before he retired. However, his love for art has never wavered, and his work has been featured in several juried art shows and galleries, including the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum and a gallery in Boca Grand Florida. "I view art as a form of communication. Graphic images were the first form of writing' of history and stories. I like to choose subjects for drawings that stir memories and feelings. We Americans have a connection with the automobile. We fondly remember our first car, the first new one we bough perhaps how much we wanted one that we never had. Images of these special cars can take us back in time. I have also chosen a medium that, to me, I reminiscent of old illustrations and engravings, and even early automobile advertisements. I am influenced by that work. I hope that you enjoy what I've done.” Zhanna Biletska Website - Instagram Zhanna Biletska, an exceptional oil painter based in Chicago, has dedicated her life to translating the vibrancy and allure of the world around her onto canvas. Born and raised in Ukraine, Zhanna's artistic journey commenced early, with rigorous formal training at a local Art school. This initial exposure to the arts culminated in a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a reputed Ukrainian university, a period of her life that solidified her commitment to creativity and design. Zhanna's artistic prowess is a testament to not just her academic training, but also her relentless pursuit of mastering her craft. She sought out the tutelage of master painters, assimilating their techniques, and constantly improving her own. Her efforts bore fruit, with her artwork featuring in multiple exhibitions throughout Ukraine, thus cementing her place as a rising star in the art world. A move to the United States offered Zhanna a fresh canvas. She embraced this change, exploring the diverse landscapes and bustling cityscapes of her new home. This exploration wasn't merely a physical journey, but also an artistic one. Zhanna began painting and sketching outdoors, discovering her profound love for plein air painting. The immersive experience of painting in the open air, amidst the elements, became a wellspring of inspiration for her. Today, Zhanna is renowned for her stunning plein air compositions and bespoke custom house portraits. She brings homes to life on canvas, capturing their unique character with a masterful blend of realism, impressionism and artistic interpretation. Her work is a testament to her ability to capture both the physical structure and the spirit of a location. - - + RSVP recommended, but not required + small bites and beverages provided Fun Fact: With over 100 works on display, Creative Coworking never takes a commission: 100% of the selling price goes directly to the artists.
