Is It Wickedness Or Weakness? - Discussing Kendrick Lamar's "Damn."

Is it wickedness or weakness? This is the question posed at the beginning of Kendrick Lamar's fourth studio album DAMN., a concept album which explores various facets of American - and specifically African American - life. Though the lyrics are open to interpretation, Genius states that the question "Is it wickedness or weakness" refers a misanthropic way of viewing human behaviour - one in which all actions are either "wicked" or "weak" - that is to say anything which isn't weak must be wicked, and anything that isn't wicked must be weak. It's dark, but it's only one way of interpreting one of the many thought-provoking lyrics on this dense album full of meaning, emotional highs and emotional lows.
