Fowler Out Loud: Zama Dube

Zama Dube is a South African voice and sound artist currently pursuing a Ph.D. in cinema and media studies at UCLA. Drawing on her experiential knowledge as a media practitioner in the South African broadcast industry, Zama’s current research examines practices of visual dissent by Black women and queer cultural producers in the African diaspora. Interweaving audio and visual worlds, Zama pulls from diverse visual mediums in order to conjure sonic landscapes inspired primarily by Amapiano and Deep House music.Fowler Out Loud is an evening concert series that invites UCLA students from various disciplines to perform at the museum.
