Join The Publishing Triangle for our 36th Annual Awards Ceremony as we recognize the best LGBTQ+ books published in 2023 and welcome special guests. including writers Judy Grahn, Christopher Bram, JP Howard, John Keene, and Reginald Harris; American Library Association President Emily Drabinski, who will receive the Publishing Triangle Torchbearer Award; Betty Berzon Emerging Writer Award winner Hilary Zaid; and Michele Karlsberg Leadership Award winner Kris Kleindienst, owner of Left Bank Books in St. Louis, MO. Dorothy Allison, recipient of the Bill Whitehead Lifetime Achievement Award, will offer remarks by videotape, as will presenters Jacqueline Woodson and Michael Nava. At this free event, hosted by Emanuel Xavier, we'll also announce the winners of the following [hidden] Award for LGBTQ+ FictionEdmund White Award for Debut FictionJudy Grahn Award for Lesbian NonfictionRandy Shilts Award for Gay NonfictionAudre Lorde Award for Lesbian PoetryThom Gunn Award for Gay PoetryJoseph Hansen Award for LGBTQ+ Crime WritingLeslie Feinberg Award for Trans/Gender Variant LiteratureJacqueline Woodson Award for LGBTQ+ Children's/Young Adult Literature The awards ceremony and reception that immediately follows the ceremony are free and open to the public. The event will be held at The New School Auditorium, 63 Fifth Avenue (at 13th Street) in Manhattan. The New School's Creative Writing Program partners with The Publishing Triangle to present these awards. More Info below.
