When a group of foreign workers are killed by an Islamic fundamentalist group, fear sweeps though the region. The army offers the monastary protection, but the brothers refuse. They begin asking if they should leave. The film is informed by John W. Kiser’s account of the events in The Monks of Tibhirine.
