Emerging Artists: Closing Party

New Women Space is creating a short form program to amplify Women, Queer, and BIPOC artists. With the help of our current curator, Alex Revo, we hope to build a space for emerging artists within Brooklyn, Queens, and the surrounding areas. We close September with artist Mor ! Mor is currently a Queens based artist who utilizes hand-cut stencils, paper, and drawing to construct intricate pieces. Their work is influenced by mythology and folklore, humanity’s innate necessity for narrative, the power of imagination, and how these concepts help transform and traverse trauma. Mor’s artistic practice explores the belief that creativity is a generative wellspring within people. Through engagement with creativity, humanity produces new narratives and paradigms that shape society allowing space for personal and collective healing.
