Kimchee is traditionally a communal event so bring your friends and family and learn the craft of this Korean side dish. This class is taught by Haejung Kim. She is a gardener, florist and avid home chef who has been making kimchee with her grandmother, aunts and mother for years. Her kimchee recipe has been featured in the Los Angeles Times and she has taught kimchee classes in LA at The King's Roost. There are so many variations of kimchee; in this class we will make “Mat Kimchee” where the cabbage is cut into bit sized pieces before fermenting. This makes for a quicker ferment and no messy chopping before enjoying the kimchee. In this hands-on class you will learn about each ingredient, the process and the recipe as we make one large batch of kimchee together. We will chop, soak, mix, and then fill up quart size jars of kimchee for each student to take home. You will leave the class with the hands on knowledge and experience for you to make kimchee again at home. Class is limited to 6-7 people per session for a true hands-on experience. All supplies and ingredients will be provided. Korean snacks will be also be provided during class. ****Refunds are applied towards credit for future classes. More Info below.
