Master trombonist Art Baron has led a long and varied career. Soon after completing studies at Berklee College of Music, he made a notable appearance on Stevie Wonder's Music of My Mind, and then joined the Duke Ellington Band at age 23. He went on to work with many major artists including Buddy Rich, Sam Rivers, Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed and James Taylor. As a composer and arranger, he has had commissions from Jazz at Lincoln Center and the New York Composers’ Orchestra, among other ensembles. In recent years he has been found carrying on the big band legacy in the Harlem Blues and Jazz band and his own Duke's Men. Presented in partnership with the Jazz Foundation of America, with partial support from the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M.
