The Making of a King was birthed out of a deep sense of empathy for men of color and the lack of positive representation in media and the black culture. With the gap between men and women of color growing in the areas of education and professional achievement, their stories are rarely highlighted, and when they are it seems to have a negative connotation attached. The candid interviews featured in the documentary include men from various professional fields including: doctors, lawyers, engineers, creatives and entrepreneurs sharing about their experiences in relationships, the work place, family, and their everyday lives as a black man. The Making of a King's purpose is to dissolve myths and begin a healthy dialogue about the current state of black men and how their community can come together in support of their excellence and success.
