Between The Sacred And Profane: Music Of Dualities

The inaugural season of Shir Chadash (New Song), a program dedicated to promoting and growing new Jewish music, finishes off with its second and final concert exploring the idea of musical dualities that sometimes clash and other times compliment one another. Weaving together various Jewish sonic elements with concert music and contemporary styles, the program will feature music by Julia Adolphe, Michel Klein, Salamone Rossi, and Menachem Weisenberg. The concert will feature student musicians from The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, including Xenia Deviatkina-Loh, Tiffany Wee, Lu Walstad and Jeff Ho. This event is made possible by the Lowell Milken Fund for American Jewish Music at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.
