The first of its kind in the nation, this specialized MBA program in Media Management fuses core competencies in economics, finance, marketing, operations, management, and accounting with intensive exploration of media. This festival started as a live case study is in its tenth year, students organize, develop and run the show. Our theme is Coming Of Age During The Social Media Era. Metropolitan College of New York, was founded in 1964 as a visionary institution, now located near the new Freedom Tower in downtown Manhattan. The MCNY Media Management MBA program is specifically and uniquely designed to develop quality management practitioners in the media and entertainment industries capable of creating corporate cultures in which individual initiative, participation and autonomy will result in augmented self-esteem and job commitment, enhanced productivity, improved product quality and labor-management relations, strengthened global participation, and, ultimately, in increased profitability and responsible community awareness and civic participation. Filmmaker Panel Includes: Walter J. Tucker is a 15 year music executive, MBA college professor & the founder of LiveThe.Biz which is America's leading music business education organization. Walter has coached hundreds of indie artists across the country through several sold out music industry panels & has handled projects regarding the music rights for Beyoncé, 50 Cent, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis to name a few. He’s been featured in Forbes, Black Enterprise, SXSW & The Hollywood Reporter. Kenya Cagle holds an MBA in Media Management from Metropolitan College and has been involved in the industry as a child actor doing community and Off Broadway Theatre. He studied drama at the prestigious High School Of Performing Arts. He studied television and communications at Empire State College where he received his AA & BA respectively. Mr. Cagle also holds a certificate in business from WIBO (Workshops In Business Opportunities Inc), New York Film Academy in film and is a graduate from the legendary Hollywood Film Institute. Since starting Caglevision, Inc., Mr. Cagle has produced nearly thirty films including 17 features that have won numerous awards while showing at various festivals all over the world including best picture. In 2008, he was the Executive Producer for the television series called TK - The Series. In 2011 his film Black Heart won best Guerilla Feature Film at the largest action film festival in the world: AOF (Action on Film Festival). In 2018 his film Killing Joanne won six different awards. Currently Mr. Cagle is working on the feature film You Call Me Ugly with Bill Duke, Antonio Fargus and Laura London. He is also scheduled to do two other features this year, Dead To Right and Resurrection. In addition to his outstanding track record of completing film projects, all of Mr. Cagle's films have come in on time and on budget. Articles on Mr. Cagle’s progress have appeared in many newspapers and magazines including The Amsterdam News, Big Red, The New York Beacon, The African American Times, The New York Post, The New Yorker, Crain's Business Report, The Hollywood Reporter and Black Enterprise Magazine. Originally from New Haven, Connecticut, G. Jamie Jimenez, MBA moved to New York City in 2005 and currently resides in Harlem. He is a graduate of MCNY's MBA Media Management program. He also received a Masters Degree in Project Management from New York University. Within this time Jamie also produced a web series called Dominion and an award-winning short film called Egress. Egress also won the MCNY 5th annual Film Festival. Jamie has a dynamic background with over 10 years of highly successful corporate experience. He is now focused on strategically integrating film/media into different mediums and is focusing on diversifying the Tech world. Ashton Pina, MBA: Ethnically infused with Cape Verdean, Ashton Pina hails from New Bedford, Massachusetts. Through his creations, Ashtonhopes to enlighten and entertain the world. He’s been blessed with amazing opportunities like working with Inuka Bacote, Nelson George, and Beyoncé. Ashton is a recipient of the Riant Theatre Youth Empowerment Award, has earned both an MFA and MBA, and mentors young media artists in NYC and LA. He wrote and directed the award-winning short, The Brothers Texas and produced The Huffington Post featured web series, Bi. Ashton is currently developing his off-broadway stage play WERQ! into a feature film, a digital series based off, In The Paint, and a number of short film projects.
