Over 20 years in the making, the conclusion of M. Night Shyamalan's Eastrail 177 trilogy is finally upon us. To celebrate cinema's most genre-bending super(anti)hero trio, we're screening all three of Night's brilliantly realized films for the first time together - with GLASS being an advance sneak peek. David Dunn, Elijah Price, Kevin Wendell Crumb, let's finish what you started...
Courtesy of Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, this triple feature is completely free with only an RSVP required to be entered for tickets. Attendance is required for all three films. Standby lines will be pulled at the opening of UNBREAKABLE and GLASS.
Free Screening! Triple Feature:UNBREAKABLE, 2000, Buena Vista Pictures, 106 min. Dir. M. Night Shyamalan. When the Eastrail 177 train from New York to Philadelphia crashes, all on board are killed except for security guard David Dunn (Bruce Willis). At a memorial service to the victims, he gets a cryptic message from Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), an art gallery owner who believes Dunn may have extraordinary powers. A cult favorite that has spawned two sequels, this mind-bending deconstruction of superhero films co-stars Robin Wright Penn and features a suspenseful James Newton Howard score.
SPLIT, 2016, Universal, 117 min. Dir. M. Night Shyamalan. Writer-director-producer M. Night Shyamalan returns with an original thriller that delves into the mysterious recesses of one man's fractured, gifted mind. Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (THE WITCH’s Anya Taylor-Joy), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him - as well as everyone around him - as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.
Advance Screening! GLASS, 2019, Universal, 129 min. Dir. M. Night Shyamalan. Writer-director M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his worldwide blockbusters to create this explosive, comic-book thriller. From UNBREAKABLE, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from SPLIT are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast. Following the conclusion of SPLIT, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
