Pay-What-You-Wish Admission Mondays at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art Fifth Avenue for New York State residents and NY, NJ, CT students; Free Admission for Members, Patrons and Children (under 12) - see INFO below. The Met Fifth Avenue presents over 5,000 years of art spanning all cultures and time periods. Since the Museum opened its doors to the public in its current location in Central Park in 1880, its footprint has expanded to cover more than two million square feet. Today, art comes alive in the Museum's galleries and through its exhibitions and events, revealing both new ideas and unexpected connections across time and cultures. Open Seven Days a Week: Sunday–Thursday: 10 am–5:30 pm Friday and Saturday: 10 am–9 pm Closed Thanksgiving Day, December 25, January 1, and the first Monday in May.
